King’s Lynn celebrates its Hanseatic heritage with family activities across the town
The sun shone for celebrations, which included a flag parade, Lithuanian dancing, traditional shanty songs and river trips aboard the Baden Powell.
Cllr Sue Lintern, Cabinet member for Culture and Events, says, "It’s a wonderful opportunity to celebrate our heritage together.
"As one of England’s original Hanseatic ports from the 13th century onwards, our town is home to the last remaining Hanseatic warehouse in the country, built in 1475. It’s a legacy we’re incredibly proud of."

Over the weekend there have been activities across the town, including at Hanse House, The Minster, Rathskeller Beer Garden, Marriotts Warehouse, South Quay, Clifton House, Stories of Lynn and Saturday Market Place.
All to celebrate King’s Lynn’s proud Hanseatic heritage.

This year marks 21 years since the town rejoined the modern international Hanseatic League.
