Anniversary includes special service and cream tea
Where the church stands today was once the site of a tin hut, before the 1896 construction of the permanent stone building.

The milestone has been commemorated with a special anniversary service and community activities.
The church launched a brand-new book documenting its 130-year history, alongside an archive display showcasing its evolution.
Guests included town mayor Mark Williamson.

The Minister, Rev Dr Richman Ncube, says "Since its opening in 1896, our church has served as a spiritual home for generations, providing not just a place of worship, but also a centre of compassion, fellowship, and service for our community.
"Through times of celebration and moments of challenge, we have stood together, guided by our shared belief and the teachings that continue to inspire us today."
After the service, there was cream tea - and an anniversary cake, made by Mark Fisher - a scale model of the church.
The honour of cutting it went to long serving member Beryl Kirkland and Rev Helen Hollands (chair of the East Anglia Methodist District).
