Cooper & Elms acquires A E Wallis premises, strengthening local electrical retail provision
Local independent electrical retailer Cooper & Elms based in Tower Street, King’s Lynn has announced the acquisition of the A E Wallis store, another established family run and respected electrical retailer with a strong history in North West Norfolk, upon the current owners retirement.
Cooper & Elms in purchasing the shop premises hope to take the electrical retail business from strength to strength, by extending their business from King’s Lynn to Heacham.
As fellow Members of the Euronics buying group, customers of A E Wallis will continue to receive the same trusted local store service with the added benefit of an expanded product offering when Cooper & Elms take on the premises from June 1st 2026.
The Heacham store, which was established by John & Richard Wallis’ father, Arthur E Wallis in 1939, will be rebranded to Cooper & Elms. There are however, no immediate changes planned to day-to-day operations, ensuring a smooth transition for customers. Wayne Martin of Appliance Care and Kev the Aerial Man who have assisted Richard for some years will remain alongside Cooper & Elms for continuity.

Although John’s retirement will see the closure of the bike shop, with the agreement and co-operation of both Moulam & Horn in Pound Lane and Mr G in Cheney Crescent, the sales of spares and the repairs of cycles will thankfully continue in Heacham.
